Hi I'm Jenny AKA “The Salty Chilli”.
I'm an American (New England and NYC) ex pat living in Birmingham, UK and I have two young sons. I ended up here through a long extensive travel where I met my British husband in Chile. I have a background in styling and marketing.

Much like you I absolutely love food, writing, travel and most of all cooking. I started this account on maternity leave as a creative outlet to personally document what I cook but have had SO many mind blowing epiphanies through this journey that I've become completely obsessed by the art and joy of cooking.

My goal is to show people how accessible cooking is. I'd also like to think I have good taste in food so through test kitchen-ing things I want this all to be your next most favorite dish. I develop my own recipes but you can't develop recipes well without learning all kinds of methods, flavours and mixtures, therefore I also love testing out cookbooks. My bedside table and kitchen is pretty much covered in them.

You will always find dried noodles, garlic and shallots in my pantry...and there is always chilli sauce, cabbage, cucumber, limes, feta and eggs in my fridge...what that says about me I have no bloody clue but I'm fascinated by what people have in their cupboards so thought I'd share.

My future plans are to develop and learn more and continue learning about the world through food.
